Beopseong Port
The Buyong Port (Present : Beopseong port) and Yeongsan Port were constructed at Jeollado-province in early Goryeo. In present, It has plan to make glory place of first grade port by waterway dredging and ferry creation.

Yeonggwang Gulbi(Dried croaker)
The Yeonggwang Gulbi is Beopseongpo’s special products. Which was ate by King from the Ancient time. The Yi, Ja-gyeom went into exile to Yeonggwang in King, Yejong. And He present Gulbi to King. In that time, “My situation is exile circumstance But I don’t bend my mind”. Therefore, It named by Gulbi.

Baekje Buddhism Initial Introduction Place
It is believed that Yeonggwang Beopseongpo was the first place where Baekje Buddhism was introduced. Beop means a Buddhist canon and Seong, Saint Marananta. Buddhist Monk Marananta from India placed his first foot in Beopseongpo in Yeonggwang in order to introduce Buddhism into Baekje via Dongjin in China.

<The Three Kingdoms' History> says that Indian Buddhist Monk Marananta arrived from Dongjin in Sept. of the first year of King Chimryu in Baekje. The king welcomed him to a palace and treated him with respect. Then Buddhism begins.

Judging from the fact that several books show that Korea had trade with China all over the Yellow Sea at an early age and from the record of constructing temples throughout the Jeonnam district, including Bulhoesa Temple, the place where Baekje Buddhism was first introduced was Beopseongpo in Yeonggwang-gun.

Beopseongjinseong(Castle), Zelkova Group (Local Monument No.205), (Local Monument No.118)
The Beopseongjinseong-castle was constructed for protecting the Ancient Japanese army in Joseon Dynasty of King, Jungjong (1514). In that time, They planted the Zelkova, Hackberry and White birch etc. in around the castle. But, In present, the 127 Zelkova trees are exist. And The Dano Festival holding every year in lunar calender May 5th.

Gamami Beach
This place has wide sandy beach. And also, it is one of the summer beach among the 3 Big summer beach in Honam area. And You can able to a nap between the Pine forest as like folding screen. There are holding the Beach Song Festival with crowd in ever year.

Seongsan-ri, Dolmen Group(Local Monument No.123)
The place arranged the 45 Dolmens by 4 lines. And The Dolmen used pillar style of support stone. We must considered the speciality style of this area and Jeonbuk Gochang, Yeonggwang, Hampyeong, Jangseong etc. with Northwest of Jeonnam.

Gyemahang-port
This place has long road of port and beautiful sunset. Therefore, Many tenderhearted lovers and persons are walking this rand. And also, They see the sunset in the Hoitjib (Sliced raw fish restaurant). In front of the small islands view is very beautiful as like a picture.

Atomic Energy Advertising Pavilion
The Pavilion was opened in June 1987. The object is informing the wide knowledge to Civilian about the General Principle of Atomic Generation, Information provision of Necessity and Stability. And also, Atomic energy usage.

Cheonil Sea beach
The Cheonil Sea beach divided straightly as like Baduk board. And the Pure white Salt kernel is shining silver color under the sun. The Yeonggwang(Yeomsan, Baeksu)’s Chemical free of Cheonilyeom is produced 32,000 ton(594㏊) in every year. Therefore, it is 10% of Nationwide production volume.

Duu-ri, Resting Place, Shell Gathering

Christian Marotyrium
This place is many believers died(Yeomsan Church 77 persons, Yawol Church 65 persons) for defending their faith from North Korea army’s pressure in time of 6.25(Korean War). If you come here, You will impressed the nameless martyrdom’s deep faith.

Nakwoldo-island
The Yeonggwang-gun’s has only islands. Which is called Jindal. There are 11 of manned island and 51 desert island. The marine products resources are abundant shrimp and dried laver etc. And the place is suitable sea fishing.

Songido Beach
The place is only pebble swimming beach(length 3㎞, area 30㏊) in nationwide. The pebble is very soft. Therefore, If you walk by bare foot. When yon don’t feel the pain. There are Hackberry forest and many fantastic rocks and stones. And also, The camping is convenient. Therefore, The place is good summer vacation rest area.

Daegakido-island (Mystery sea road)
The mystery sea road is opening yearly 200 times as like Moses’s miracle. The road occurring about 250m width, 4㎞ distance and 2 hours between Songido and Gakido in ebb tide. Where are able to gathering Solen and Shell. Therefore, It is really good for Natural Ecology Learning area.

Chilsando-island
The Chilsando named by assembled similar 7 islands. And the circumference sea is our country’s maximum croaker fishing grounds. Especilly, This place is breeding area of Yellow bill egret (Natural Monument No.389), Black tailed gull and sacred ibis.

Hoengdo-island
It is beautiful island as like Sohae-geumgang. Because, There are Mireuk-(seondol)-rock, Sseoguri-rock, Janggun-rock and fantastic rock and stones.

Anmado-island
The grand sight was made by the Malko-rock, Heundeul-rock etc. and splendid fantastic rocks and stones. The reason is developed the Sea erosion precipice and Split gap layer. The Malko-rock named that it shaped as like horse’s nose. It is extreme of Sea erosion precipice development. Because, the shape is unique by penetrate into front and rare.
