Bulgapsan·Bulgapsa-temple
The name of Bulgapsa, standing on Bulgapsan Hill(516m), may be born of the fact that it was first built by Buddhist Monk Marananta who introduced Buddhism into Korea in the first year of King Chimryu in the Baekje Period(384). Beopseongpo was also changed from Buyongpo because it was the wharf where a saint brought a Buddhist canon.
Go up stone steps and you will find four guardians images in Cheonwangmun Gate. It is believed that they were made by Buddhist Monk Yeongi during King Jinheung in the Silla Period and moved from closed Heungdeok Yeongi Temple in Jeonnbuk Province when Buddhist Monk Seoldu rebuilt Bulgapsa Temple during the first year of King Gojong in the Joseon Dynasty.
Daeungjeon Hall, main hall, has 3 kan(intervals) at the front and 3 kan(intervals) in flank and hipped-and-gabled roof and was designated as Treasure No. 830. The central three doors were ornamented with lotus and chrysanthemum pattern and the rest, with an oblique pattern, which make the building fine.
Bulgapsa Temple includes such building as Manseru, Myeongbujeon, Ilgwangdang, and Yosachae. In back of the temple, Neolitsea sericea community, designated as Natural Monument No. 112, is distributed. It is evergreen broadleaf tree of camphor tree family, flowers during October or November, and gets ripe during next October. People can enjoy flower and fruit at a time. Visit such neighboring tourist attractions as Haebulam, Sudoam, Naesan Seowon(Academy), Bulgapsa Reservoir Park, Won-Buddhism Holy Place, or Dombae Island where Baekje Buddhism was first introduced.

- - It called Hardy cluster (Lycoris squamigera) Because, the flower are blossomed when the leaves are fall and the leaves were came out when the flower is fall. And it blossom too many flowers of the Bulgapsan in early autumn.

- It proud the very gorgeous form by various cover style with eight covered roof. And There are 3 kinds of specialities Which are Gwansolmun (door)·Samsinbuljwasang (three gods Buddha seated statue)·the over roof’s Stupa
- Stupa
It is kind of tomb for enshrining the Buddha’s bones after entered into Nirvana in South Buddhism Area. This Bulgapsa’s tomb style is same the India’s thing. Therefore it style were introduced from India.
- SamsinBuljwasang (three gods Buddha seated statue)

The most of Buddha seated statue are toward the front of building. But, This Bulgapsa’s Buddha seated statue are toward the south of building. Like this style are appeared the speciality of South Buddhism as like ridge of a roof. It is also, same style things are Buseoksa Muryangsujeon and Magoksa Daegwangbojeon in nation.
- Sacheonwangsang (Local Tangible Cultural Assets No.159)
It was manufactured the Yeongisa-temple of the Jeonbuk, Heungdeok. Which the Yeongisa was constructed by Saint Doseon in Medium era of Joseon. And the Sacheonwang-sang was moved to Bulgapsa by Saint Seoldu. And it has balance beauty and harmony beauty by National Maximum Size of Wood statue
- Manseru(Local Cultural Assets Material No.166)
The lower middle story in front of Daeungjeon. Usually, the tower gate are entering under tower. But, the Hwaeomsa Bojelu and this Manselu are lower middle story. And It is using study room in summer time.
- Beomjonglu
There is Big temple bell. It means stopping hell people’s pains and cleaning mind. Which is second storied upper chamber. It is special style, low middle story of front and lofty building of rare.
- Yeonsilbong-peak’s sunset
The West sea’s sunset is very beautiful in Bulgapsan’s highest peak of Yeonsil. And also, It is really beautiful scenery with Tohamsan sunset of Bulguksa in east.
- Haebulam(Monk’s cell)
The Haebulam is one of the Monk’s cell among the 5 big Monk’s cell. Which are Jeonilam, Bulyeongdae, Sudoam, Ojinam. And It has beautiful scenery. And also, It is 4 Holly land of Honam Area from the ancient time.
- Naesanseowon (Auditorium)(Local monument No.28)
The Naesanseowon lacated near the Bulgapsa. And It enshrine the Sueun Gang, Hang(1567-1618). There are many of printing block “Jangpangak”. Which is the original block of Ganggamhoeyo. And, There are one more good garden with beautiful sky.

The Sueun kang, Hang was repaired and arranged the Jachitonggam and Tonggam-gangmok of Chinese History book. And also. He made the printing block. The printing block is just one and the copy is existence in Nation Central Library. Therefore, It is really valuable thing.
